To make up for only one post last week, I have not one but TWO short videos for you this week!
I was honored to be the guest speaker at the Professional Women of Statesboro’s June meeting last week and I talked about “Social Media & Your Business”.
I did these 2 short videos before heading out, simply to put out there one, why you need to be on social media, and two, the benefits.

Some great advice here and I totally agree that it is about interacting and engaging. It’s important to show a genuine interest in who you are connecting with no matter where in the world they are!
Yes! Thanks Carolyn!
The statistics were staggering! Thanks so much for the great suggestions!
Thanks Lisa!
Love the videos Mandy! Great to hear you 🙂 It is really amazing that it is so simple, but yet so difficult to find success through social media. The concept of building relationships is not new, but for social media marketing, so many forget about it. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Gretchen!!
Nice videos! It’s really just networking. Nothing has changed. Whether you are networking online or off, that’s always the best way to grow your biz!
Thanks Martha! Networking is very important!
Always love watching your videos…you so rock! Great points on social media..you know your field well.
Thanks so much
Sharon G. Cobb
Thanks Sharon!! I appreciate that!
Question, Mandy: when you mentioned $136 as the potential value of each Facebook friend in the first video, is that LTV (lifetime value)? Loved hearing all the statistics!
To be honest, the article I read that stat in did not specify…
Wow, 136 dollars value for a facebook friend? I never put it in perspective like that before.
I hadn’t either!
If I start to waiver about my commitment to social media, I can just return to your videos for a boost!
aww, thanks Meryl!
Awesome videos Mandy, some great teachings!
Thanks Sherry!
Great videos and advice. I think we really need to keep it simple and just give first and then we have earned the right to ask. Its quite easy really. Too many try to complicate social media for sure!
Thanks Anita! I agree completely!
Great video and awesome points, Mandy. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks Lorii!
Love videos and you are great on them:) Thanks for sharing this info and the stats…who knew?? 🙂
Thanks Dr. Daisy!!!
Great videos, you do a great job! Great advice as always!
Thanks Traci!
Mandy, I love your info & LOVE your passion. Who wouldn’t want to do business with you? So great to have someone like you out there who I know truly cares and wants to help!! Great job and I love connecting with you out there in SM land!
Thank you for those kind words Sue!!
Love the videos Mandy; you always give so much great advice. I didn’t know those stats; they were very informative; thanks!!
Thanks Olga!
I love your videos! You’re a natural and give wonderful insite to the WHY and the HOW which is just marvelous! Your passion is contagious!
Thanks Stacy!
Great videos Mandy, you would think that all business owners know the importance of social media by now but shockingly enough many don’t and this is a speech that I find myself continuously giving.
Thanks Karla! I feel I give that speech every week!
This is too funny — just as I clicked a link to purchase something from a Facebook Page you said, “Chances are you’ve bought something from a FB page”
Spooky!!!
That is hilarious!!! Something like that would happen to me too!
Great presentation and information! Thanks!
Thanks Denny!
Those are amazing stats, Mandy! I really liked seeing your smiling on the video and hearing your tips in your own voice…that is so cool! Thanks for the great info!
Thanks Sherie!
It’s So great Mandy! You Own what you are talking about and it feels you are talking from your heart and brain without hesitation. That is Powerful 😀
Wow, love all of the statistics Mandy as I am not a statistical gatherer. The point is definitely driven home why everyone’s business needs be have a presence on social media.
Nice videos Mandy! Loved all the stats in the first one. You certainly gave me something to think about with those.
I love using statistics. They are so clear and really help.
I am surprised at the stats but will say most of my traffic comes from FB alone. Someone from my networking group in my city said she isn’t online because there is too much competition. I tried to explain the ‘why’ it would benefit her, but to no avail. I suspect she needs these stats…
I love the $136 figure— those facebook friends to whom I have reached out and put on my teams or in my customer base are probably averaging me that much each if I sit down and figure it out. But the friendship, even without the biz component? Priceless! 🙂
I love the videos, Mandy-Great job! It is about networking and connection, whether it’s online or brick and mortar business. Building relationships are so important! It’s amazing the number of friends that I’ve made through social media in just the last year.
What wonderful videos Mandy! Great job teaching the benefits. Looking forward to more!
Awesome! You shared 2 videos! Love it. You’re coming across great on your videos by the way =)
Thanks for all the great advice! Kara
Great videos, Mandy (love seeing you on video). Really good content here. It amazes me that people still need to be convinced that their business should be on social media, but I definitely find that they do. Both of your videos are great validation for your services ~ hope you’re using them as sales video!
Way to go with the vids, Mandy. You make excellent points, as always. Thank you for being so generous with your advice.
Great videos! My friend Meryl Beck led me to your site. Thanks for the info – very valuable.
